Big Timber brews take over Dark & Dusty
By Andrea Fleming, Brilliant Stream Field Reporter
Last Saturday provided a sudsy spectacle for craft beer enthusiasts in Whitehall, WV. Dark & Dusty Rec. Riders’ Tap House wasn’t just pouring your usual pint — they were tapping into a tidal wave of craft beer with a whopping 30-tap takeover by Big Timber Brewing of Elkins. The jam-packed event featured a full-fledged celebration of West Virginia’s booming craft beer scene, a testament to the collaborative spirit of local businesses, and a dream come true for hopheads.
The event was packed from start to finish, as folks were enjoying pints and flights to the fullest extent. It was definitely the place to be, and the owners, Kenny and Corrine Hayes, were all smiles as they watched the community enjoy the vast selection that Big Timber had to offer. This was a commemorative 30-tap takeover for West Virginia, and hopefully not the last. The beer selection featured something for everyone and paired nicely with Dark and Dusty’s food fare and laid-back atmosphere.
Big Timber Brewing representatives Jarod Wray and Wayne Border were on hand to support the event. Following the event, Wayne commented that he thought Dark & Dusty did a great job with the tap takeover.
“They have a great location, fun atmosphere, and a wonderful selection of adult beverages. This event pushed it further to record-setting numbers for both of us.”
Wayne noted it was the brewery’s largest number of taps ever for a tap takeover. And for Dark & Dusty, it had the best sales day to date.
“This is what it is all about,” says Wayne. “The event was a win for the West Virginia Food & Beverage Industry.”
