Rails & Ales sells out fast

Rails & Ales logoHuntington, WV — The third annual Rails & Ales Festival sold out in record time today, even with nearly 1,000 more tickets added this year.

Better Beer Coalition L.L.C., the festival organizer, reported that all tickets sold in the first 26 minutes. The 350 VIP tickets were gone in one minute. In 2014 festival tickets lasted nearly 3 hours. Eventbrite handled the ticket sale.

Rails & Ales Festival will take place at Harris Riverfront Park in Huntington, West Virginia, on August 15. The festival focuses on breweries from WV and surrounding states. This year, moving to the downtown park along the Ohio River gave the festival the opportunity to increase the number of attendees by more than one-third.

Social media outlets were buzzing about the speed of the sell out. Many reported being disappointed by missing out. It appears that the extra brisk pace of the sales surprised a lot of people.

However you look at it, this great response to the festival demonstrates that craft beer interest is accelerating in the Tri-State region. Tickets were priced at $35 for general admission and $60 for VIP. This price gives attendees unlimited 2 oz. samples of beers from participating breweries, while supplies last.
