For this West Virginia Beer Roads podcast, Erin and Charles interview Jason to discover his craft brewing background and what all he plans to bring to this new Ursus Brew Works operation.

Grand Opening Weekend
The Ursus Brew Works grand opening takes place this weekend, March 13-15. And the celebration will continue through St. Patrick’s Day. Highlights will include tapping of the first two Ursus brews, an Irish Stout and an Irish Red Ale. Both will be very traditional and true to their styles — perfect for the St. Patrick’s Day season and beyond. The brewpub will round out its beverage offerings with several taps of beer from other West Virginia brewers, non-alcoholic beer, ciders, a few specialty cocktails, and more.
On the podcast, Jason tells more about his upcoming beer beer line up and his brewing philosophy. In the brewhouse, he is assisted by Scott Ferris, assistant brewer.
The brewpub food menu has a large array of what they call elevated pub food, including several things you don’t see at other Charleston area beer bars. Chef Donnie Smith leads the kitchen. The Ursus food menu is posted on the Ursus Facebook page. Check it out.
