Brewfest painting sale nets $ for charity

Wheeling’s Mountaineer Brewfest announced yet another nice pile of cash raised for charity at this year’s festival. The fest added a new art-based fundraising feature and used a silent auction to raise over an additional $1,000 for the House of the Carpenter’s bank account.

I’m told that the special brewfest painting by local artist Mindi Yarbrough sold for $1069 at silent auction, which took place during the festival last Saturday. During the fest, Yarbrough completed the impressive work, which featured a colorful view of the iconic Wheeling Suspension Bridge as seen through a beer mug.

How appropriate it was to combine the bridge and the beer, as both were readily visible from the artist’s vantage point in Wheeling’s Heritage Port on the Ohio River. Mountaineer Brewfest really uses the beautiful riverfront park to its advantage.

The proceeds of the sale all go to support the House of the Carpenter’s social services work in and around Wheeling. It’s just another great feature in a long list of endearing features produced by Mountaineer Brewfest.

On September 16, Mountaineer Brewfest will announce the total amount their 2025 festival raised for House of the Carpenter. We’re looking forward to hearing that total. It should be impressive.
