Weathered Ground Brewery turns 8

The beer spirits sure gave us a beautiful day on the mountain for Weathered Ground Brewery’s eighth anniversary celebration on Saturday. And it sure looked like a record crowd showed up for the festivities.

The parking lot was more full than ever as vehicles parked from the brewery all the way out to the highway.

Weathered Ground staff held up exceptionally well to a huge crowd of revelers who came to help celebrate eight years of excellence at the small and independent brewery. Hundreds of beers were poured and hundreds of meals were served as patrons were well taken care of all day long.

Brewery love is a two-way street

Brewery co-founders/owners Aryn and Sam Fonda were so appreciative of the great turnout of brewery regulars and craft beer lovers.

“I want to thank everybody for buying our beer and for coming out and supporting us,” Sam said. “It just went by super fast. I can’t believe we’ve been here eight years. The reason why is all the support we’ve had. It’s just been so much fun and we love it here.”

Aryn added: “It has been a roller coaster of so many different things, but I will say the anniversary is my favorite day here at Weathered Ground. People that come to the anniversary are people that have been here from Day One. They have supported Sam and I. We have conversations about what it was like in 2017 when we opened our doors, and it just reminds us of the community that we have around us.”

Aryn said that they are very appreciative to see all the people out celebrating, and she wants everyone to know that she celebrates “every single person” who has helped them keep the doors open.

Anniversary beers, foods, merch

These four Anniversary ales plus an Anniversary Sour were featured.

The WGB brewing team had prepared a line-up of five special anniversary beers. They included a Blonde, Saison, Brown, Stout, and Sour. All were appropriately brewed just a bit on the lighter side, which was most perfect for the hot July day. Moving fastest among these were the blonde and the brown ale.

Also available were 14 other tasty taps making the patron’s beer selection chore a difficult one. Fast moving taps included the excellent session IPA, Swing Juice; Cool Ridge Lime Lager; Haggard IPA; and There You Have It Light Lager.

Beyond Weathered Ground beers, a lot of food was served by the WGB kitchen plus several food vendors out in the beer garden. Musical entertainment throughout the day was provided by live bands. Also along the beer garden boundary were several merchandise vendors selling apparel and other personal items.
