In the above photo, Jeff Hayes (with mic), president of Mountaineer Brewfest, presents the event’s largest-ever donation to charity. This year (2024), the event raised $50,000 for the local Helping Heroes veterans support organization. Major components included ticket sales, tips collected at the festival by the Circus, Saints & Sinners service organization, and proceeds from the Tap The Firkin charity auction.

“What an honor it has been to be a part of the 10-year anniversary of the Mountaineer Brewfest!” stated Helping Heroes co-founders Jeremy and Susan Harrison. “After this experience, the Helping Heroes staff, volunteers, and board members believe that this event is, hands down, the best festival occurring in Wheeling. We are forever grateful for being selected as this year’s recipients.”

Year after year, this festival’s leaders and volunteers do the hard work required to be an incredible asset to their city and region. Mountaineer Brewfest is a shining example of the potential for good that comes from the dedication of our craft beer businesses and their fans.
