Terra Alta, WV — “Cheers!” erupted last weekend at High Ground Brewing, a veteran-owned haven tucked into the West Virginia mountains of Preston County. The rain couldn’t dampen the celebratory spirit as they marked a momentous occasion on May 11th – their 5th Anniversary.
This community-focused brewery, renowned for its award-winning brews, abundant outdoor space, and cozy taproom, hosted a festive bash to raise a glass with its loyal patrons. High Ground’s dedication to fostering a fun and welcoming atmosphere was on full display.
A smorgasbord of their finest handcrafted beers flowed freely, with a special anniversary brew, the Super Soft Birthday Party golden stout, joining the festivities. Local food trucks, like Hill & Hollow and Trina’s Kettle Corn, offered delicious eats that perfectly paired with the diverse range of beers. Live music filled the air throughout the day. Ben Benson kicked things off with a lively set from 1-3 pm, followed by Hambone Wilson keeping the energy high from 4-7 pm.
Beyond the food and brews, attendees could explore a marketplace of local delights. Whiskey June Bakery Bar, Route 50 Rustics, 304 Creations, Musical Creatures, and Erstwhile Leathers showcased their unique products, offering something special for every taste.
The celebration undoubtedly served as a heartfelt thank you from High Ground Brewing to the community that has supported them for the past five years.
Brewery owner, Dallas Wolfe, had this to say about the event:
“I’m truly honored to be surrounded by so many amazing people. Five years… so surreal! I want to thank our staff past and present, our wholesale customers who sell our beer across WV and MD, and all our loyal fans and customers everywhere. We could not have done it without you. I look forward to what the next 5 years will bring.”
