Cheers to 10 Big Timber years

Nestled amidst the stunning mountains of Elkins, West Virginia, Big Timber Brewing raised a glass (or should we say mug) to a decade of brewing excellence on May 4th, 2024. Their 10th-anniversary bash wasn’t just about celebrating delicious beers – it was a vibrant display of community spirit and a love for all things craft beer.

For Brilliant Stream readers who haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Big Timber, it’s a story that embodies the true essence of craft brewing. Ten years later, Big Timber has become an Elkins institution, a place where residents and visitors come together for laughter, conversation, and most importantly, exceptional craft brews.

Beer Olympics delighted crowd

The anniversary celebration was a perfect reflection of Big Timber’s welcoming atmosphere. Wayne Border, Big Timber’s Marketing and Sales Rep, headed up the Beer Olympics, which included cornhole, trivia, a keg toss, and other events, which delighted both the crowd and the Beerlympians

The true star of the event, as with any good brewery shindig, was of course, the beer. Attendees were treated to a new release sour beer, the Pina Colada Gose, brewed for the occasion. Infused with pineapple, coconut, lime, and lactose, the beer tasted like a day at the beach.

For a special feature. the brewery dug back in its beer archives to make several popular beers from past years. They also proudly served their BTB Porter, and celebrated its gold medal win at the recent World Beer Cup competition. All in all, there was a beer to suit everyone.

Celebrating connections

But Big Timber’s anniversary wasn’t just about showcasing their fantastic beers. It was about celebrating the connections forged over countless pints. The event brought together a diverse crowd — longtime friends, newfound craft beer enthusiasts, and fellow brewers – all united by their love for this community-driven beverage. The event buzzed with a sense of camaraderie and appreciation for Big Timber’s role in the local scene.

As quoted in a previous interview with Brilliant Stream, one of the brewery’s co-founders shared, “Big Timber isn’t just a brewery; it’s a testament to friendship, dedication, and the unwavering belief in good beer and good company.” This sentiment resonated throughout the entire celebration, a reminder that craft beer, at its heart, is about fostering a sense of community and bringing people together.

So proud of Big Timber

Congratulations to Big Timber Brewing on reaching this impressive milestone. We at Brilliant Stream raise a glass (or two) to many more years of crafting exceptional beers and being a cornerstone of the Elkins craft beer scene. Here’s to Big Timber’s exciting future.
