Big Sandy Brews excels at craft beer and wine sales

I recently heard from Roberta Baylor, the economic development director for Preston County, West Virginia. She updated me on a popular local pub in Bruceton Mills called Big Sandy Brews

While Big Sandy Brews no longer makes their own beer, they do offer a very nice selection of West Virginia-made craft beers on tap. The beer selection changes regularly based on what the WV breweries are brewing. They also carry at least one cider.

Operating Yankee Mountain Winery

Roberta says what is unique about Big Sandy Brews, today, is that since 2022 they are also home to Yankee Mountain Winery. They make their own wine in-house and serve it on tap.

“I don’t think anyone else in WV is serving their own wine on tap,” Roberta writes.

Here is some info from Big Sandy Brews business website:

At Big Sandy Brews we proudly serve wine on tap from Yankee Mountain Winery, we bring unique and exciting flavor experiences to the table. On our wine-on-tap menu, you can enjoy the amazing fruit flavors of our naturally fermented, no-sulfites-added (NSA), and proprietary blends of Yankee Mountain wine. These richly flavored wines offer a delightful alternative to the mundane selections found in restaurants.

Roberta tells me they also serve up a variety of pub food, including holding Taco Tuesdays. They host events throughout the week and typically have live music on Saturday nights.
