Hinton targeted for brewery
December 18, 2023
The growing popularity of the new River Gorge National Park region appears to be bringing another brewery to southern West Virginia. Hard Right Brewing Company is a new project under development in Hinton, West Virginia.
Led by Pete Tilden, the project is in its early development stage, with a target opening date of 1st quarter 2025. Tilden plans to secure an existing building and redevelop it into a small brewery with taproom and light food fare.
Brilliant Stream will report progress on the brewery as it gets closer to an opening date.
Two more coming
While the state has experienced a couple of significant brewery closings this year, including Big Draft Brewing in White Sulphur Springs and Wheeling Brewing, it is very nice to see others still ready to invest.
Two other new WV brewery projects are preparing to open soon. They include Fox Hops Brewery in Elkins (expected opening very soon) and Köerber Beer Company in Barboursville (opening projected for early 2024.
Hard Right Brewing has a website placeholder up, but additional information is not available at this time.

December 18, 2023 at 7:11 pmThanks for all you do for the craft appreciative community. It is so sad to learn that Wheeling Brewing and Big Draft both closed. It is a tough, tough business, especially in West Virginia.

December 19, 2023 at 10:05 amThere was never any official announcement on the closing of Big Draft. Hopefully, the owners/creditors will work things out and it will reopen. It was such a nice place.
