” This reminds me of the Stone brewing variety packs you’d get at costco where they taste like a dried, burnt asshole.”

September 10, 2023 at 3:07 pmThe beer has been controversial to style purists, a descriptor which I often identify with. But in this case, I find that I like the 2023 Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest quite a bit. No, it’s not a traditional Munich-style festbier, but it’s an excellent beer nonetheless.

September 29, 2023 at 2:31 pmAlthough I am a little bit late to the party here, I always enjoy the annual Oktoberfest tasting. Just wish this one had video as well similar to last year. It always helps to be able to get a look at the beer especially with the color differences between a festbier and the marzen style of Oktoberfest beers. Also, glad you guys liked the Helltown entry. As you noted, Helltown is a recent entrant into the southern WV beer market, but it has been available up north for a while now. Although this is the first Oktoberfest selection of theirs I have tasted (and I agree with your assessment of it during the podcast), I have enjoyed some of their other year around selections. In any event, I think it would be worth checking out some of their other selections as well. Again, great job again this year for Oktoberfest! Already looking forward to 2024!
