Charleston expects a Foamy day Saturday
July 19, 2023
This year’s two-month delayed, Foam at the Dome craft beer festival kicks off Saturday, July 22, in Charleston. Tickets may still be purchased at the festival’s website, priced at $45 for general admission and $55 for VIP. So, come on out.
Expecting a good weather day
Saturday’s weather promises to be quite festival-friendly, with predicted temperatures in the upper 70s, humidity at 50%, and almost no chance of rain.
Foam is traditionally one of the state’s largest craft beer festivals. It features a bevy of West Virginia breweries complemented by a group of top quality craft breweries from around the nation. Expect hundreds of different beers hoping to fill and refill your 5-oz. festival-logo mug.
Foam will take place again along the 1900 block of Kanawha Boulevard, directly in front of the State Capitol Building. For VIP ticket holders, admission begins at 3:00 P.M and General Admission opens at 4:00. The festival closes at 7:00 P.M.
While the brewery line up has not been released, you can expect around half of West Virginia brewery licensees to participate. As in recent years, the festival is again presented by Old Colony Realtors, as lead sponsor.
Profits assist urban development
Organized by the Charleston Main Streets organization, 100% of festival profits go toward the group’s urban development efforts. The organizers report, that in its first five years years, Foam at the Dome raised over $179,000 for East End and West Side revitalization.
Food, music, and merch too
You should also find a variety of food tents and merch vendors on hand. Music will be provided by DJ Charlie Black, Joshua Runyon, and Redline Band — all on the main stage.
See ya there.
