2023 WV beer festival dates

As folks get more comfortable with large public gatherings, 2023’s West Virginia-based beer festivals promise to have the best year since pre-COVID days. For your activity calendars, Brilliant Stream collects and publishes dates and ticketing info for West Virginia’s major community-based beer festivals.

Our listing currently includes the 2023 dates for fests through August. Fall beer festival info will be updated during the summer.

Spring forth some great local brew

Kicking off the spring festival season is Cupcakes and Craft Beer Fest, which strongly enters its second year at Milan Park in Morgantown on April 15. Cupcake lovers can pair their beers with a big variety of locally made cupcakes. Lots of craft beer, food, artisans, and craft vendors are guaranteed to make this a fun event. Part of the fest’s proceeds support our military veterans and their families through Operation Welcome Home.

Next up are the popular spring festivals in Charleston and Huntington. Foam at the Dome returns this year on May 13, happening again in front of the State Capitol Building along the beautiful Kanawha River. Foam at the Dome supports the economic and community development programs of Charleston Main Street. Then on June 3, Brewgrass WV Festival will occur for the 5th year at Heritage Station in Huntington. A portion of the proceeds from this festival goes to the West Virginia Veterans Home.

Summer promises some tasty beer events

In August, we have the two most popular summer beer fests. Rails & Ales Festival happens this year on August 12, and promises to be a good one with probably the best and most numerous selection of beers at any fest in the state. Rails & Ales also offers popular opportunities for local non-profit organizations to raise funds by sending groups of volunteers to staff festival beer-pouring tables. The following Saturday, August 19, Wheeling goes all in with its Mountaineer Brew Fest, which takes place at the lovely downtown Heritage Port waterfront park. Undoubtedly one of the most pleasant and fun fests anywhere, Mountaineer Brew Fest also excels in supporting a different local charitable organization each year. With this year’s donation, it should exceed $200,000 in total donations to Wheeling area groups.
