Salute to women in WV craft beverage industry

On this eve of International Women’s Day, we salute all the women who help make our West Virginia craft beverage industry so vibrant. Whether you brew, package, manage, sell, serve, clean, or own, we salute you.
The craft beverage industry needs more women involved. It needs more diversity overall. We still have work to do in creating workplaces where women, minorities, and people of all gender identities feel welcome, respected, safe, and comfortable.

Respect their incredible abilities and minds. Treat them equally. Pay them equally. The workplace is no place for stereotypes or sexism. Let’s move our industry ahead in all respects.

March 3, 2022 at 12:31 pmGreenbrier Valley Brewing Company is dedicated to supporting women and non-binary individuals in the beer industry. We have partnered with the Pink Boots Society and have created our own Pink Boots Society brew by purchasing their specialty blend of hops produced by Yakima Chief Hops. $3 for every pound of hops sold will go towards scholarships for women and non-binary individuals that have a desire to to pursue a career in the beer industry. Our Ninkasi Saison was executed start to finish by the GVBC female staff with assistance from Aryn Fonda, Weathered Ground Brewery, and Summer Lo, local WV beer enthusiast, home brewer, and brewery friend. Join us on Saturday March 12th, for our Pink Boots Society brew release as we celebrate these wonderful changes that are occurring in our industry.
