State of the West Virginia wine market
January 18, 2021
We veer into wine county for this episode of West Virginia Beer Roads with an interview of long-time WV wine columnist John Brown. Brown has been writing about the West Virginia wine market since the 1980s. He has a wealth of knowledge about where we are and how got there.
Wines in West Virginia have come a long way since the dark days of the 1970s. In the early 1980s, Brown worked on the effort to free wine from state control, which led to a blossoming of wine availability in the state. In recent years, Brown has used his talents to become a successful novelist, in addition to continuing his wine writing.
