BRIDGEVALLEY CTC invites applications for the position of: Brewing Technology Faculty
BridgeValley Community and Technical College is seeking a full time faculty member to lead the development of the State of West Virginia’s premier brewing technology program. Located in West Virginia’s capitol city, BridgeValley is recasting the landscape of higher education with the introduction of a new Brewing Technology program designed to empower local small business and transform the State’s economy into a diverse blend of sustainable enterprises. As part of this effort, the successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to impact the State’s fast growing Craft Brewing industry by becoming the preeminent provider of skill building and workforce development to support the explosive growth of the brewing industry here. Our Brewing Technology faculty will be responsible for continued development of curriculum and cultivation of industry relationships that foster student placement for internships, apprenticeship, and employment.
Summary: 9 month faculty (typically mid-August through mid-May), renewable term, benefits-eligible, full-time. The estimated salary range is $38,000 – $45,000, with the actual offer depending on directly related experience and education.
Examples of Duties
- Develop and manage a pilot brewing and bottling production facility designed to provide students with hands on learning experiences that will prepare them for placement in regional breweries as interns, apprentices, and new employees.
- Ensure that program content is state of the art by engaging with industry and higher educational partners to develop new courses and content.
- Develop a network of local brewers that can mentor students and manage internship placement
- Develop a state wide advisory committee of craft brewing industry leaders
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum
Associates Degree or higher in Brewing Technology or significant experience and professional certifications in the brewing industry consisting of at least 5 years of professional experience that demonstrates a level of expertise and accomplishment in the brewing arts commensurate with the delivery college course work.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred
Community College teaching experience
Aptitude for using technology and innovative methods for instructional delivery
