Brew Keepers opens Wheeling taproom

The wait is over for pints and flights of great craft beer at Brew Keepers brewery in Wheeling, WV. The brewery opens its new taproom on Market Street today at noon.

Look for the garage door to raise as Brew Keepers taproom opens at 2245 Market St. in Wheeling, WV.

Up until now, Brew Keepers operated only as a production brewery with Growler/Crowler sales for carry-out. Now, with pints and flights available, we expect the new taproom to excite the Wheeling area craft beer community and stay very busy. No doubt, it could double the demand for their brews. The brewery also self-distributes its beer to a number of restaurant and bar accounts in the Northern Panhandle.

Describing it as the obvious next step for the brewery, owner/brewer Kevin Ayres calls the taproom addition, “Nothing fancy, just obviously smart business sense.” With the taproom opening, Brew Keepers adds the more profitable, beer by-the-glass sales, which is the staple of small, local breweries across the nation.

Taproom forecast is warm and sunny

  • Deathwind (Appalachian IPA)
  • Flip Flop (West Coast IPA)

Brilliant Stream has included Brew Keepers’ beers among its listing of the state’s best beers. The brewery has been very popular in the Wheeling region ever since it opened and has won the People’s Choice award at the Mountaineer Brewfest for four years straight. This summer at the festival, its Honey Creme Hefe Blonde Ale took first place in the commercial beer competition. The brewery earns a very solid 3.71 overall rating on Untappd. These guys know how to make good beer.

The taproom will not offer its own food menu, however it will accommodate patrons ordering delivery or take out from other nearby restaurants and food vendors.

The brewery is directly across the street from the popular Coleman’s Fish Market restaurant.
