Make plans for WV fall beer fests
August 4, 2018
Brilliant Stream’s updated 2018 fall beer fests listing has been published. It’s time to get out your calendars and mark down a couple of your favorites.
Coming back for another year are some great West Virginia events. They include Charles Town’s Happy Retreat Festival, Morgantown’s Hops on the Mon, and Charleston’s Hops & Heat and OktoberWest. Two popular southern West Virginia festivals return in Oktoberfest Pipestem and Bluefield’s Oktoberfest in the Park.
Most of these festivals now have a few years of operation under their belts. This experience allows our fall beer fests to have ironed out the wrinkles and run well-oiled machines. Beer lines are modest; beer variety is good; prices are reasonable. With the growth in West Virginia breweries, you will find more local beer than ever.
One significant format change to note is at Oktoberfest Pipestem. This year, the festival changes to a free admission event instead of a ticketed event. Guests will simply purchase whatever beer, food, and other beverages they want on a a pay as you go basis.
