Craft Writing symposium offered by UK
August 4, 2016
Anyone with an interest in writing about craft beer and breweries should take a look at this. The University of Kentucky is offering a one-day Craft Writing symposium on Friday, September 30. The symposium is free and open to the public.
This event will bring together brewers and professional writers from the craft beer industry. Delivering the keynote address will be Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, brewer and owner of Evil Twin Brewery and author of Food & Beer. Other speakers include:
- Joseph Tucker, Founder/CEO, RateBeer.com
- John Holl, Editor, All About Beer magazine, author of American Craft Beer Cookbook.
- Julia Herz, Craft Beer Program Director, Brewers Association
- Jeremy Danner, Brewer, Boulevard Brewing, social media expert
- Heather Vandenengel, Writer, All About Beer, Beer Advocate.
Craft writing symposium state of the art
The University of Kentucky describes the symposium thusly:
This event will showcase the professional writing – in print and digital media – that is dominant in the craft beer industry. Writing has played a major role in promoting the business of craft beer. Craft Writing will serve as an event that draws interdisciplinary attention to the ways industry utilizes writing – in various digital forms – to promote, inform, highlight, argue, market, brand, and foster relationships between products, consumers, and other relevant parties.
