Green Man Brewery expansion opens
March 9, 2016
Asheville’s Green Man Brewery will hold the grand opening of its new tasting room and brewery expansion on March 17. The large expansion project is located next door to the current location on Buxton Avenue in the South Slope district.
For its grand opening the brewery reports it is staying true to Green Man tradition by holding the event on St. Patrick’s Day 2016. Green Man released its first ever bottles on St. Patty’s in 2013 and has been celebrating the holiday ever since.
Rare beer tappings will take place throughout the day.
The 20,000 square foot expansion, dubbed the “Greenmansion,” will add another super location for craft beer fans visiting Beer City USA. Inside the new building is a top floor indoor/outdoor tasting room, which overlooks the production floor and offers views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A ground level “Brewtique” serves as a beer and merchandise retailer, as well as a bar and patio with two fire pits.
The production space will start out as a packaging hall with bright tanks, keg-filling operation, and a brand new KHS bottling line on the way. Eventually the facility will have a specialty brewhouse as well.
For the celebration, guests are encouraged to dress up as their interpretation of Green Man, and there will be a prize for the best costume. Food trucks will be on site for the occasion. The original tasting room, lovingly nicknamed “Dirty Jack’s” by locals, will continue to be open 7 days a week.
Time for a road trip
Green Man’s Expansion Grand Opening runs from 2pm-10pm on Thursday March 17, at 27 Buxton Avenue.
