Distilleries, wineries turn out for Adventure Day

Four West Virginia distilleries and wineries were represented at the 2016 West Virginia Adventure Day at the Legislature. The event featured exhibits promoting tourism opportunities across the Mountain State.

Over 70 tourism industry members participated. From the beverage alcohol sectors, participants included Hatfield & McCoy Moonshine, Chestnut Ridge Winery, Stone Road Vineyard, and Mountain Mama Moonshine. The event was held Feb. 8 at the State Capitol in Charleston.

An adventure awaits

An authentic adventure awaits tourists who visit West Virginia’s breweries, distilleries, and wineries. With over 50 artisan producers spread over all regions of the state, they are not hard to find. Tourism is big in West Virginia. Our breweries, distilleries, and wineries are a fast growing part of it. State Tourism Commissioner Amy Shuler Goodwin said that the tourism industry produces around 46,000 jobs and $5.1 billion for the state economy.
