Sun shined on Foam
May 10, 2026
The sun shined bright on Foam at the Dome yesterday. It was a glorious day for a craft beer festival on the banks of the Kanawha.

A large crowd tuned out to support and sample beer from many of West Virginia’s best breweries — all in a setting between the river and the State Capitol Building. Fest organizer, Charleston Urban Works, had to be happy with both the weather and the crowd size.
A Best of Fest beer competition, where each West Virginia brewery could enter one beer, gave top honors to Wolf Cuddles Baltic Porter from Bad Shepherd Beer Company of Charleston, WV.

The competition was extremely close among the top three placing entries. Finishing second was I Know the Owner Hazy IPA from The Peddler of Huntington. Third place went to P51 Porter from Fife Street Brewing in Charleston. BrilliantStream sends its congratulations to Ross Williams, Bad Shepherd’s head brewer, for the win.

A big thank you goes out to all the fest volunteers and organizers, WV brewers and beer distributors, and also to Erin & Jason McCoy, David Mincer, and John and Sue Lichtenberger for their work on the beer judging.
