Back in the summer of 2015, I wrote the headline “Stumptown Ales hopkicks West Virginia beer scene” for an article about the start-up of Stumptown Ales in Davis. Weathered Ground named West Virginia’s Best New Brewery 2017

They put a major investment in a hilltop field in Cool Ridge and pretty much instantly became the brewing capital of southern West Virginia. Weathered Ground Brewery’s beautiful new building and grounds sparked a type of excitement rarely seen in our state.
