While the festival had a very solid selection of craft beer from across the country, local Pittsburgh area breweries were the real stars at last weekend’s Pittsburgh Winter Beerfest.
A road trip over to Lexington, Kentucky can pay unexpected benefits to craft beer drinkers. In recent years, the city has experienced a brewery explosion to add to its long-time stalwart Alltech Lexington Brewing Company. Don’t let the crazy name fool you. Yee Haw Brewing Company in Johnson City, Tennessee, is as sophisticated a brewery as you’ll find anywhere in the country. A brewery doesn’t come out of the gate making lagers this good unless it has some very talented brewers and awesome equipment.
